As Earth Day draws near, Earth MONTH celebrations are ramping up at Disney World!

Animal Kingdom is the resident Earth Day Disney pro, with a whole month’s worth of special merch, drinks, and events well underway. Now, new Earth Day signage and a limited-edition pin have joined the park’s festivities! 

Animal Kingdom and Earth Day go waaaaay back. That’s because not only is the park famed for its conservation efforts and lush decor, but the park actually opened on Earth Day in 1998! (Who’s got a big birthday comin’ up? YOU DO, ANIMAL KINGDOM!)

Naturally, the holiday doubles as a birthday, so Disney World always goes BIG with its Earth Day celebrations at Animal Kingdom, and this year is no different.

We’ve already sipped special Earth Day cocktails and snacked on animal-themed cupcakes. Now, the park is making it OFFICIAL with new signage at the entrance!

True to the holiday, the sign is bright green, noting “Earth Day Celebration at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.”

We’re big fans of the eco-conscious Mickey Mouse silhouette on the left side of the sign, filled with recycling symbols, plants, and animals! 

It’s Earth Month!

Once we were inside the park, we also spotted a new LIMITED EDITION Earth Day pin at Discovery Trading Co.!
