Earlier this year, major cruise companies had to completely shutter sailings in response to the spread of the global health crisis.
With Disney Cruise Line sailings currently suspended and a no-sail order from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention through the end of the month, cruising has been more or less up in the air. Now, Carnival Cruise Line has become among the first to announce a return to sailing in the U.S. — and it’s before the end of the year.
According to industry magazine Cruise Week, Carnival Cruise Line is set to resume cruising on December 1st in the U.S. A recent order on environmental compliance of ships will allow this plan to continue.
In a statement, Carnival Cruise Line noted, “Our highest responsibility and top priorities are compliance, environmental protection and the health, safety and well-being of our guests, crew, shoreside employees, and the people and communities our ships visit.”
As of right now, the Disney Cruise Line has suspended all sailings through at least mid-December and at this time it is unclear whether Carnival’s sailings indicate a return for Disney cruises anytime soon. We’ll be sure to keep you updated, so stay tuned.
