It looks like guests will have to wait at least a few more months for their next ride around Tomorrowland on the PeopleMover.
When Magic Kingdom reopened to guests in July, we noticed that the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover was not running. While there were signs outside of the attraction informing guests of the temporary closure, Disney did not announce an expected reopening timeframe.
But as of this morning, the Disney World refurbishment calendar has been updated to indicate an extended closure of the attraction. On the calendar, the PeopleMover is listed as “closed for refurbishment” from now through October 31st.
Currently, the PeopleMover is no longer listed on the refurbishment calendar starting on November 1st, however the attraction availability is subject to change.
While Disney hasn’t announced specific details regarding the reason for the closure, the PeopleMover was unexpectedly shut down back in March, in the days leading up to the park closure. We’ll keep an eye out for any additional information about the status of this Tomorrowland staple, so stay tuned!

I hope this is really just temporary. The PeopleMover is a great ride.
It would be wonderful if they were to make it accessible! It always seems strange to me that the one ride that most disabled/ elderly people would really enjoy is completely unavailable to them! Come on Disney!!
I went a few days after park opening and I was so sad I couldn’t ride TTA! I was especially sad that I couldn’t ride it with my grandparents and their service dog, who needed a nice relaxing break from the Florida heat.
People Mover is my all-time favorite ride by far. Why? I don’t know…it just is.
This was one of Walts ideas carried over and improved from Disneyland in CA. My wife an I always take the ride for a brief rest Nd gentle breeze. I hope they do not change it, some additional lighting inside space mountain would be nice along with some additional exhibits around the Carrosel of Progress and Buzz Lightyear would improve the scenery also.
Pulllleeeze just make this a temporary refirb. Everyone I know “LOVES” The People Mover. It’s a nice break to cool off & get a great view of the kingdom !! BRING it BACK…..SOON !!!
Hope it’s really only temporary!
NOOOOOoooooooo….. OK maybe not my favorite ride, but a day in MK just isn’t complete with it!
This is one of my favorite rides at magic kingdom will miss it so relaxing to sit back and take it easy as you ride around disney
